Condo from the river

I even took a picture of my complex from the river while kayaking. Rindy and I are trying to find a day to rent jet ski's and I'm looking forward to that.

Kayaking

I finally had time to do something fun. I went kayaking with a group from the Riviera Baptist Church that I'm going to. It was fun!

Preparing for the monsoon

I didn't realize Arizona had monsoon season until after I moved here:-) They do from June - Sept. I guess it's a good idea to cut back all your trees for the big winds that come through. The complex had a crew come and it took about two weeks but they trimmed the palm trees way back. Here is a before and after shot so you can see what I mean. See how much smaller they seem now - not the same exact trees but you get the idea.

Cute end table and phone stand

Entryway table and end table

TV, console and end table for the condo

I needed a new TV console and TV, but when I went looking for something inexpensive (like Walmart) I just couldn't find anything I liked. So I went to a furniture store and found some really beautiful pieces - called Sunny Design. It is oak with tile enlays. I ended up buying a lot more than I intended too, but it's so pretty that I figured I might as well get the matching pieces. The TV I did find at Target for a decent price.

Condo complex entrance

The entrance is attractive as well. They used to have security guards posted but the hut is empty now.

Garage

My garage is the very last one on the right.

View up sidewalk toward my condo

Here's the sidewalk toward my condo - I'm upstairs but you can't see mine from this angle. That's a pool to the right - I look down on it from my living room.

New condo complex

I rented a condo because I had a contract on my house (that sell has fallen through). Since I already signed a lease I will be moving on May 29th. Here are some pictures of the complex. It's really nice. There are 4 pools, and I have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with a single car garage. It's very nice, and I'm glad I will at least have my stuff here.

T.J.'s graduation

I made a quick trip home for T.J.'s graduation. It was really nice - they included a funny routine with a puppet that kept it more interesting than most. I am so proud of him!

Notes about first two months

I can't believe I've been here for 2 months already. The job is going really well. I like all the people I work with. There is a lot of opportunity for improvement so that should keep me happy and busy for awhile. We had to do inventory last week - always a favorite - and it actually went pretty well.
I like the area, but haven't had enough time to check out too many things. Rindy and I have been alternating visiting one another and that sure helps - to know at least one person here. Her family had me over for Easter and that was really nice.
I did make a trip to Denver in April and will go again May 15 for T.J.'s graduation from Red Rocks. I'm so proud of him!

Western Arizona Regional Medical Center

I didn't get great pictures yet, but I'll put one that I took of the hospital.

View from office window

Nice view from my window at work.

My new office

Exciting! My new office.

Spring break in Lake Havasu City

The next weekend I went to Lake Havasu to see Rindy and her new house (really nice!). We wanted to go for a walk and forgot how busy it would be by the London Bridge area because of spring break. We got an eyeful for sure! These girls were modestly dressed compared to most.

Rindy visits

Rindy came over from Lake Havasu City and we went to the lake area that is about two miles from my house. We discovered a neat hike into a shore area. The spring break time was just starting so we weren't overwhelmed with kids yet.

Flowering cactus

It's a pretty time of year. Even the cactus are flowering!

Looking east / west

Just looking both ways in front of the apartment - doesn't do great justice of the mountains in the background - but I do have them on either side.

A building shot

Farther out looking toward my front door.

My new temporary home in Bullhead City

I took several shots just to give a feel of the apartment complex and the surrounding views. Actually pretty scenic here as well. This is the front door.

Getting closer to Bullhead City

There were pretty veiws the whole way it seemed. I think this was in Utah.

Pictures of mountains and my favorite hike area

It could have been a horrible drive, but God was watching out for me the whole way. Driving past my favorite place to go hike, and then over Vail Pass - sometimes treacherous but not troubles this time.

Pictures of the trip

I had to take a lot of pictures as I drove to Bullhead - some close to home just to remember.

Saying goodbye at work

I had such a great group to work with at St Anthony - I'm really missing the strength in that group since I started my new job!

Goodbye dinner with my sons

T.J., Kurt and I for a last meal before I hit the road.

Thank you dinner

I am so thankful for all the help I had. Not everyone could make the dinner, but was sure glad that Cheri, Angel, Kaarl and Karen made it. Cheri and Angel did double duty - they helped with a garage sale the weekend before - ugh! So they really had to earn it!

Tim patiently did a lot of various jobs - even when he needed some help he persevered!

Karla and Cheri

Both worked so hard all day - I couldn't have done it without them!

Kathy working in bathroom

What a blessing Kathy and Ron were (sorry I didn't get Ron's picture). He removed a non-working ceiling fan and installed a light in my kitchen (as well as other helpful things). She cleaned hard all day!

Kristen working hard

Kristen was the patcher and touch up painter. You were wonderful!

Final clean with help from my friends!

That last week before leaving Denver was more like a sprint than a marathon! I had so much to do, and little time to do it in. Luckily my friends came through and helped out. Thank you all so much!
