My friend, Rindy, came to visit for Thanksgiving (some pictures via Rindy). It was great to have company and we had a good time!

My first hike was higher up and was a good view of the turning colors.

I joined a hiking club and really enjoy that. I don't have to know where I'm going or how to get there. I meet with a group of people and go! They worry about the rest. It's great. The hiking views are different than in Colorado, but I'm surprised by the mountains around Tucson. Of course you hike in the winter rather than the summer. I guess you can go to the top of the mountains in the summer (called Mt Lemmon), and get half way cool - but I'm sure it's still quite hot.

I've moved again in late Sept 10 - to Tucson this time. I found a beautiful apartment complex and I really like it! I'll add a couple pictures of the view around my complex.

Condo from the river

I even took a picture of my complex from the river while kayaking. Rindy and I are trying to find a day to rent jet ski's and I'm looking forward to that.

Kayaking

I finally had time to do something fun. I went kayaking with a group from the Riviera Baptist Church that I'm going to. It was fun!

Preparing for the monsoon

I didn't realize Arizona had monsoon season until after I moved here:-) They do from June - Sept. I guess it's a good idea to cut back all your trees for the big winds that come through. The complex had a crew come and it took about two weeks but they trimmed the palm trees way back. Here is a before and after shot so you can see what I mean. See how much smaller they seem now - not the same exact trees but you get the idea.
